Step Fitness

Step aerobics has been around for a long time since the 1990s. Even though it has waned in popularity, there are plenty of clubs that still offer step classes.
I have been teaching step classes for 25 years and I still love to teach the class. It burns a ton of calories and on top of that, it is a lot of fun.

You can practice step aerobics at home before you try the class out in person. If you are not quick to pick up on steps, you might want to learn the basic patterns and terminology first. However, you will need a step bench before you start. You can find a used one on eBay or buy a new one on Amazon.

For beginner exercisers or anyone under 5' 4"(162 cm), you might one to start with the four-inch bench. If you are tall, over 5' 10" (151 cm), you probably can start with a six-inch-high bench if you can handle it. As you get in better shape, you can add on the risers to get a more intense workout.
