Subway's Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki

Two weeks ago, I had a bicycle accident and suffered a concussion. My diet has consisted of soup, rice, beans, grits, nothing that would be hard on my teeth. I might lose a couple of my front teeth because I fell on the side of my face. Luckily I had a helmet on. Anyway, today I wanted something different to eat that won't be too taxing on my teeth. I decided to try Subway's new protein bowls.

Subway's Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki Protein Bowl Review

I would say the protein bowls are the Subway sandwiches with no bread but more meat. When I ordered the sweet onion chicken teriyaki bowl, they scoop up about eight ounces for more in a container, and they warm up the sauced meat. Then they take a salad bowl and ask you what vegetables you want in the bowl.

I opted for half spinach and half lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, and onions. After putting the vegetable bowl together, the warmed chicken teriyaki went on top. The Subway worker asked if I wanted cheese; I told her no, I didn't need the added calories.

If you don't add the oil, vinegar, or extra dressing, which I think wasn't necessary, the sweet onion chicken teriyaki bowl is about 300 calories. It is one of the leaner protein bowls.

How did it taste? I liked it. I prefer having it on bread. However, if you are on a low-carb or keto diet, this protein bowl would be a perfect lunch or dinner option.
