My Favorite Stretching Exercise Video

Total Body Stretch Video

I love this total body stretch video because of the following reasons:
  1. It is only 10 minutes long
  2. The directions are clear and concise
  3. You don't need any equipment except a mat or rug
  4. It targets muscle groups in both the lower and upper body
  5. It is free
  6. No complicated moves and names like in yoga

I discovered this video three weeks ago because I needed a good stretch after working out. Stretching is easy and I do it on my own, but only for 4 minutes after exercising. My body needed a longer flexibility routine because I was feeling very sore from some previous workouts.  This one was right up my alley, not too long but thoroughly enough to make my muscles feel better.  This program is now part of my fitness routine and I try to do it at least 3 times a week.

Stretching in a chair

This is an update (1/2020) to this post I wrote several years ago. I have been teaching and training a lot of people who have a problem getting to the floor. You can also do this at your desk at work. So I am including a great video of stretching in a chair.

Give them a try and let me know what you think. Do you stretch after exercising? For how long do you stretch? Do you do yoga?

  1. YES! I have to stretch daily or my hips and legs tighten up fast. And you know I love my yoga! I like the yoga challenges on Instagram like #shesgotlegs because it gives me a focus for the day. #wowlinkup

  2. Stretching is a must for me, I do some after every workout cooldown. When I had to go through PT for a work injury this past winter, they gave me lots of useful tips for stretching and I'm actually really glad because stretching the wrong way can cause injuries and prolong them. Because I have to be careful I avoid Yoga, but I know a lot of people swear by it, guess it just depends on your body and what works for you, thank goodness there are lots of different ways to stretch:)

  4. It's a good way to start the day too-- I have tight hip flexors so the deep lunges kill me but they feel oh-so-good!

  5. Hi Sheila,
I just hopped by from #wowlinkup and I love your choice of stretching video. I must admit I often neglect stretching so this easy video is just the reminder I need to stretch more often.

  6. Honestly I need to do better with my stretching before and post workout. I prefer dynamic warm ups to get things moving. I need to do better though. #wowlinkup
