See Sarah Lose - An Update

April 2013
January 2014

Happy New Year everyone and it is time to update Sarah's weight loss progress. Back in October we stated that we had a goal to be under 400 pounds, well, we didn't make it. She only lost 4 pounds but it was a loss and not a gain, so we are both grateful for that.

Sarah told me that she didn't feel like she lost anything because she still looked the same. Even for me, I thought she looked about the same until I dug up some old pictures. I took the first picture in April of 2013 and took the last picture this past week. When I compared the two, I was like "WOW! what a difference."  I quickly shared them with her. As you can see, her derriere and her arm are significantly smaller and she has less fat in the front part of her stomach.  We were both very excited and set a new goal.  In two weeks, she goes back to her doctor to be weighed in and we want to be down 8 to 12 pounds.

For the next two weeks Sarah will be on a 1200 calorie diet.  She has one protein shake for breakfast, a veggie meal for lunch, and a meat and vegetable at night. Her snack is a bag of 100 calorie almonds or a piece of fruit. This is for the next two weeks. However, I eventually want her to join Food Addicts In Recovery Anonymous.

Sara wants to thank everyone who has cheered her on and she knows she has a long way to go. We will be updating soon. Do you think she made progress?

  1. Good news Shelia! It looks like she lost some inches around the hips so that is an improvement. Are you working with her diet? Is she seeing a nutritionist? She may need to work on her diet more than anything so she can get the results she wants a lot easier.

    2. That's good. Keep encouraging her to watch what she is eating and she will be happy that she has better control in that area.

  2. Not only has she lost a few pounds and some noticeable inches in past months - but it is VERY impressive that she has KEPT OFF more than 100 pounds loss! That is a HUGE accomplishment! : )

  4. I think Sarah has experienced or is experiencing the same problem as myself.

I've lost 50kg (about 100lb) but I'll be damned if I can see the difference! Yeah I know, I'm actually thinner (obviously healthier but we're looking on face value here) but my overall shape has not changed at all. That's what I find most disheartening at times. My legs are still tree trunks, my arms can still take flight if the wind blows, my belly still sags the same way.

  6. Congrats to Sara! In any challenge it's important to celebrate the small victories rather than be discouraged. Keep it up!

  7. Not sure if it's just the pose but it looks as though she doesn't have to use the wall to support herself for the picture either. Great job Sarah!
