See Sarah Lose The Frugal Way - Update

Picture taken on April 11, 2013

It's been a longtime since I reported on Sarah's progress because we had a lot of ups and downs due to some health issues she was facing, however, I have some good news. Sarah has lost 102 pounds since she started her weight loss journey.

She started losing weight on her own last December and she weighed 523 pounds or 237.72 kilos. When Sarah started working with me she had already dropped to 489 pounds or 222.27 kilos. Today she stepped on the scale and weighed in at 426 pounds or 191.36 kilos. She couldn't believe it, so the medical staff stepped on the scale to see if it was working correctly, it was.  The doctor asked her why she was so nonchalant about her weight loss and she said she thought her results were just okay. It didn't hit her until this morning when she analyzed her results and it brought her to tears; she lost 100 pounds in less than a year.

How she achieved her results

When I started with Sarah, I would see her twice a week in her home but it was too far for me to drive, so we started Skype training in May of this year.  Presently, she trains three times a week for one hour via Skype and sees the physical therapist two times a week. Her goal is to attend my fitness classes once she's in better shape.  My classes are two nights a week and on Saturday morning.

Diet

Her dietitian put her on a 1200 calorie diet which she was following until recently. Sarah didn't feel like she was making progress so I suggested the Smoothie Jumpstart eating plan. Instead of smoothies, she is using the SPIRU-TEIN replacement drinks instead. Sarah replaces two meals with the shakes and has one meal a day with snacks. After she drinks the shake, she drinks a full glass of water and this keeps her full until her next meal.  I suggested that she put the shake powder in the blender with 2 ice cubes and 8 ounces of lactose free milk, almond, soy or rice milk. This process makes the drink frothy like a milk shake. Sarah stated she wants to drop another 100 pounds by following the Smoothie Jumpstart Diet Plan

Recent picture and future plans

Sarah wants to wait until she drops another 50 to 75 pounds before she does a comparison picture for the blog.  I told her to do what makes her feel comfortable and we can wait for the reveal picture. Sarah's goal is to be in the 300 pound range by January 1, 2014 and I know she will make it.

Sarah's SPIRU-TEIN favorite flavors:
Strawberry Shortcake
Pina Colada
Red Velvet
