I Love Me Some Grits
My parents are originally from Alabama and Mississippi and I grew up on eating grits for breakfast. One of my favorite recipes is shrimp and grits and it is great for brunch or dinner. I had a craving for them but I had to find a low fat shrimp and grits recipe. A friend suggested that I take a look at Paula Deen's website. Of course, I was like "Paula Deen" no way, but she has added a lot of healthier versions of her recipes to her site. I used Whole Food's yellow grits which has more fiber than regular grits. The meal was delicious and if you also love grits, check it out.
I forgot to mention that this turned out to be a frugal date night dinner. At my favorite restaurant, it would have cost us $15 per person and the total meal to make at home was about $13.
