Alexia Smart Classics Crinkle Cut Fries Review

Alexia-smart-classics-crinkle-cut-fries

I passed by McDonald's today, so I developed a taste for fries.  I knew back home, I had Alexia Smart Classics Crinkle Cut Fries in the fridge so I kept going to save money and to save on calories.

Upon returning home, I turned on the oven and placed 15 pieces on a cookie sheet. According to the label, 12 pieces is approximately 100 calories. Twelve pieces weren't enough for me because I just finished a heavy workout, so I added 3 or 4 extra pieces.

The directions said to bake them at 450 degrees for 17 minutes and this is how they turned out.

How did it taste? They were bland in fact, I would have been better off baking a potato.  I probably would have enjoyed it more than these fries.  I tried to doctor them up with ketchup and popcorn salt but no dice.  You know that feeling when you had a meal that was just so, so and not that great and it leaves you wanting more food? This is how I felt after eating the Alexia Smart Classics Crinkle Cut Fries. This product is not a buy for me, make your own or buy Ore Ida fries, which taste much better in my opinion.

To get over my potato craving, I made this for lunch today.  A potato that size below is about 275 calories and I added Tostitos medium cheese spread which is 40 calories for 2 tablespoons. It tasted a whole lot better and was very filling, so my craving was satiated.  Check out another baked potato post I wrote last year.  It is an easy, nutritious recipe and a great dinner meal for your family.

Do you eat potatoes? How do you cook your fries?

  1. I love baked potatoes and sweet potatoes. I agree with you about these fries though. We tried this brand one time and haven't bought them again. I would much rather just eat a baked potato :)
