My first client durning the week is at 5:00 a.m. and I don't like getting up 30 minutes earlier to eat breakfast, so I usually have a piece of fruit and a fiber/protein bar in my car. McDonald's is my usual stop, if I don't prepare the night before. My first choice was the egg Mcmuffin. The egg Mcmuffin was McDonalds's leanest and healthiest breakfast sandwich. I have preached to clients and clients taking my fitness classes, that if you have to stop at Mickey Dee's for breakfast, buy the egg Mcmuffin, oatmeal, or yogurt parfait. The egg white sandwich is even better because it is made with an egg white instead of the whole egg, which has less calories and fat. It has a whole wheat english muffin which has more fiber than the plain english muffin. The total calories in the Egg White Delight is 250 and the egg Mcmuffin has 50 extra calories.
Of course you want to know how it taste, it was pretty good and you could tell it was healthier. I used to buy the egg Mcmuffin, take out the yolk of the sandwich but that was a messy job. I appreciate McDonald's making the choice to cater to a segment of the population that is demanding healthier alternatives to their menu. What is your go to breakfast if you are running late?
